Large Group Functions
When do I need a Large Group Function permit?
You need a Large Group Function permit if you expect 1000 or more people to be at your event at the same time for three hours or longer.
Below is an overview of the health requirements. See the permit application for all details.
- Permission from the landowner for your event
- A site plan of the event layout
- At least 1 toilet per 200 people
- At least 1 handwashing station per 5 toilets
- A trash management plan
- Provided water must be from an approved water source
- At least 1 CPR certified person and a Class A ANSI First Aid kit
- A medical emergency plan
- A vomit and diarrhea clean-up plan
- You must have a burn permit for all campfires, bonfires, etc, if applicable.
- If you are providing camping, you must obtain a special event campground license.
- All food vendors must have appliable permits and licenses.
For a successful and safe event, it is the applicant’s responsibility to consult and coordinate the appropriate fire, parking, and law enforcement agencies and to obtain any additional required permits or guidance from these agencies. The Large Group Function permit only reviews the health requirements and does not exempt the applicant from other applicable rules and regulations including public nuisance ordinances pertaining to noise or ADA compliance.
