The International Travel Clinic at Missoula Public Health offers a unique service. Pre-travel visits are conducted by Registered Nurses specifically trained in the field of travel medicine. Our visits follow best practice standards for an inclusive pre-travel risk assessment tailored to your individual travel itinerary and health history.

We stock the following travel vaccines:
  • Yellow Fever – We are a designated vaccination center for yellow fever and official certification will be provided
  • Typhoid (oral or injectable)
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Pre-exposure Rabies
  • Tick-borne Encephalitis (special order only)
  • Cholera (special order only)
  • Vimkunya (Chikungunya) (special order only)

Prepare for your appointment

You should bring:

  • Your trip itinerary
  • List of current medications you're taking
  • Immunization record
  • Registration form and Travel Clinic Medical Questionnaire (will be emailed with your confirmation appointment)
  • If you are traveling to a Yellow Fever area and are over 60 years of age, please bring a prescription from your medical provider for you to receive the Yellow Fever vaccine.

What we will provide:

  • Detailed country information and risk assessment based on your itinerary, activities, and health history
  • Review of available prescriptions for malaria prevention, self-treatment of traveler’s diarrhea, and preventing altitude sickness
  • Review of current health bulletins, tropical/infectious disease prevention, food and water precautions, and other safety considerations
  • Review of routine vaccines and travel immunizations

Payment:

There is a travel visits fee, per person, and payment is due at the time of service. This does not include the price of vaccinations.

  • Most insurances do not cover travel vaccines, please check coverage with your plan prior to visit
  • If your insurance does not cover travel vaccines, payment is expected at the time of service (Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, pre-exposure rabies series, Tick-borne encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Cholera)
  • Routine vaccines can be billed to most insurance companies, or are offered on a sliding fee scale if you qualify (ex. uninsured).
  • Prices vary depending on current vaccine prices
  • We accept cash, personal checks or credit/debit cards (Visa or Mastercard only).
